Chapter Festival, April 18

The Grand Chapter of Maryland has scheduled a one-day Degree Festival for April 18, 2026. It will be held at the Frederick Masonic Temple, located at 6816 Blentlinger Road, Frederick, Maryland, on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

It is hoped this will help our smaller chapters and resolve issues for candidates who have been waiting to receive their degrees across the state.

The current plan is to confer the Mark Master, Past Master, and Most Excellent Master Degrees in the morning, followed by a lunch break, and then conclude the day with the conferral of the Royal Arch Degree. Lunch will be provided by the Valley of Frederick, Knights of St. Andrew Ladies Auxiliary for $20.00 per person. It is suggested that the chapter cover the candidates’ lunch.

REGISTRATION FORM

To ensure a successful day and proper candidate reporting, each chapter sending candidates must do the following.

·  That all candidates for the class have been voted upon in their respective Chapter, prior to the degree Class.

·  That the Chapter Secretaries have properly entered the candidate(s) in the MMS, which will be finalized upon successful completion of the Degrees.

·  That the attached registration form is completed and sent to the Grand Secretary, with a copy also sent to the attending mentor.

·  That each Chapter has a designated mentor to accompany the candidate(s) from their respective Chapter.

·  That the Chapters have provided a Chapter Coin and a Mark Card for each candidate.

·  That the mentors report back to the local Secretaries on which candidates attended and transmit the Mark Cards back to the Chapter Secretary.

Tentative schedule for the day:
8:00 – Coffee & Donuts & Registration
8:30 – Mark Master Degree
10:00 – Past Master Degree
11:00 – Most Excellent Master Degree
12:00 – Lunch
1:30 – Royal Arch Degree
3:30 – Finished

It is very important that you do not tell someone of the degree class and to “just show up.” All candidates must have been balloted on prior to the class and entered into the Membership Management System. We will not accept walk-in candidates.

To support Grand Lecturer Bruce Colburn, the MEGHP requests all chapters to submit a list of members qualified to perform any degree work in the four degrees. This will be used to seek assistance with the 18th and future degree work. Please send the names and any parts they know. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Joint Mid Atlantic Department Conference, Sept 25-26

INFORMATION ON 2026 MID-ATLANTIC DEPARTMENT CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 25-26
BALTIMORE MARYLAND

Sir Knights and Companions. For the very first time, we will have a united conference in the
Mid-Atlantic involving the General Grand Chapter, General Grand Council and Grand
Encampment of Knights Templar of the USA.
The conference will be held at the Maritime Institute Conference Center located in Linthicum
Heights Maryland quite near BWI International Airport. More information to come with the
registration for the event showing exact times/dates of the conferences in the next few days.

The important part is that the Grand Encampment is bringing back the York Rite Leadership
Training to the Conferences across the country and all Templar Conferences will be held on
FRIDAY and the General Grand Chapter & General Grand Council will be held on Saturday.
Along with the Chapter and Council meetings on Saturday, we will be returning the York Rite
Training to the program so members of the Templars may participate along with all other
Masonic attendees that wish to begin or continue their Leadership Training.

We would like to enlist the help of the Grand Commanders, Most Excellent Grand High
Priests, and Most Illustrious Grand Masters, to promote this training and encourage up and
coming officers within constituent Chapters, Councils and Commanderies, to participate in
these important and life changing classes. Not to limit this, these classes are also open to
Master Masons, Youth Groups, Ladies Groups such as SOOB, Eastern Star as well as Prince Hall Affiliated groups.

We ask that each jurisdiction in the Mid-Atlantic consider finding 15-20 participants (approx.
100 people) to help fill these classes and promote the Leadership of our Masonic organizations of all types. If possible, we’d ask that ways be found within your jurisdictions to subsidize the registration fees for our youth. The cost to rent the classrooms, travel, meals, and
accommodations for the instructors will be borne by the Grand Encampment by order of the Grand Master of GEKT. More information coming, see the Flyer for Contacts for Organizers.
