ORDER OF THE SECRET VAULT COLLEGE OF PRESERVATION
The “OSV” is from the General Grand Council International and recognizes the continued
service of the Companions to the Council. The Order of the Secret Vault is by invitation only;
only those who have received it can nominate someone to the College Dean, who then makes
the final selection and forwards the nomination to the College of Preservation for the final
decision on who receives the Order. Recipients are known as a Companion of the Secret Vault
and receive a certificate and a jewel to wear.

GENERAL GRAND COUNCIL CRYPTIC MASON OF THE YEAR
One medal is awarded each year to a Cryptic Mason by the General Grand Council. It is given to a man chosen by each Grand Council for outstanding service to Cryptic Masonry in their State.

ADULT YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD
As of the 33rd Triennial, the General Grand Council provides one Adult Youth Leadership Award
to each Grand Council to honor a volunteer from the International Order of Rainbow for Girls,
Jobs Daughters International, or DeMolay International within their jurisdiction. In 1996, this
award was made available to recognize non-Masons, including ladies. Since 1978, hundreds of
awards have been given, but this honor is currently underutilized as a way to promote support
for youth groups and increase awareness of the Council.

THE ISH SODI AWARD
This Award is given to those Companions of this Grand Jurisdiction who have demonstrated a
consistent willingness to dedicate their time and abilities for the good of Cryptic Masonry. As
Cryptic Masons, we are taught that “ISH SODI” means “Select Man, or Man of My Choice.”

MORDHURST AWARD
The award was established with the approval of the General Grand Council at the 33rd Triennial
in 1978 and was initially awarded to any Companion who served as Grand Recorder for 15 years with distinction. Since then, fifty-one medals have been awarded to Companions.

RONALD L. THOMAS RITUAL AWARD
This Award is intended to inspire you to commit Cryptic ritual to memory and to engage and
participate in ritualistic work within the Cryptic Rite. Originating from the Alabama Grand
Council Ritual Award, the key aspects of earning the Award are that you are able to recite
perfectly and deliver appropriately. The high standards set will preserve those Sacred Treasures
which are ours through Masonic heritage.

LADY OF THE COUNCIL
Cryptic Masons know and appreciate the help and support of their ladies. The General Grand
Council has developed an Award to recognize and honor these Ladies for outstanding
dedication and support to Cryptic Masons.
